The Game
- REGISTRATION FOR SEASON 7 CLOSED – JOIN THE WAITING LIST FOR SEASON 8
- Season 8 commences March 2026
- 5 players on the pitch and maximum 3 rolling subs. Rolling subs can exchange at any time and as many times as they need to during the game.
- Game recordings for every game at no extra cost.
- A league division to suit your standard of play and level of competitiveness.
- A League season is divided into a round robin phase.
- Games are 40 minutes long with a 2 minute half time period.
- At the end of a season we generally put the top 3 teams of a division up a division, and the bottom 3 teams down a division.
What Do I Need To Know
- Applicable to Men 16 Years or Older
- The league fee per team per season is R5899 from October 2025 and will now include full game recordings and highlights shared on our Rookie and Youtube platform. A simple shared payment option is now available when creating your team online to split fees equally between team mates.

- Men’s league takes place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Friday nights as well as Sunday mornings with Super League running on Tuesday night, League 1 and League 2 running Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and League 2 on Thursday
- Newly registered teams will all begin in League 1, or 2 depending on rank and availability in the division.
- From time to time, catch up games will be allocated on Saturday or Sunday mornings.
- There are approximately 10 games per season, 1 per week unless catch up games are required.
- League fixtures are system generated and teams will get various time slots on their league night. Times could vary from 18h00 to 20h00. Team administrators must check the website for fixtures and confirm.
- Your team may initially be allocated to a league division to match their level of skill and level of competitiveness.
- A team will only be entered into the league once full payment for the league season fee is received. Payment options are available through our Mobicred facility at check-out
Rules

- ENTER AND PLAY AT OWN RISK
1.1 PAY BEFORE YOU PLAY. NO TEAM WILL BE ALLOCATED INTO A DIVISION IF FULL PAYMENT HAS NOT BEEN MADE
1.2 No metal studs! Only astro turf or artificial ground (AG) trainers or boots may be worn. Studs should not be designed for
hard or soft ground play i.e. long studs
1.3 No alcohol or smoking on the court. No use of drugs allowed
1.4 No hanging or pulling of the nets
1.5 No entry without staff/supervisor permission
1.6 No damaging of property (vandalizing)
1.7 Any misconduct with not be tolerated and dealt with accordingly by management. Management have the right to
dismiss players/teams for misconduct
1.8 Games go ahead as usual on public holidays
1.9 In the event of bad weather, games will still go ahead. Should the pitch be unplayable, at management discretion,
games will be called off.
1.10 Please safeguard your valuables during your game
1.11 All above rules are final and binding and cannot be challenged. Hellenic Soccer Park reserve the right to relax or
amend any of the above rules as they deem necessary
2.1
All games are played with a size 4 futsal ball
2.2 Each game will be 40 minutes including a 2 minute half time period.
2.3 It is the responsibility of the team captains to confirm the score recorded by the Referee at the end of
each fixture to ensure that the
score and goal scorers are correct, before leaving the venue on the night of the fixture.
2.4
Slide tackling is not allowed. A player may only go to ground to play the ball if he is attempting to score or block an opponent’s
attempt to score. In both cases the player must not be in a playing distance of an opponent
2.5 2 on 1 tackling is permitted.
2.6 Tackling is permitted from any direction. Foul play is not permitted from any direction.
2.7 Hellenic Soccer Park has a strict policy with regards to games starting on time:
• All league teams receive weekly email fixture notifications; therefore, we request that all teams arrive at least 10 (ten)
min utes
prior to kick off of their fixtures to ensure that the game starts on time.
• Games will start once
4 (four) or more players from each team have arrived for the fixture.
• Should a team arrive late, as per the league rules, the Referee will allocate a 5 (five) minute grace period for those team
s w ho are still
paying their match fees. Once this grace period has ended, the Referee shall start the clock and will begin allocating 1 (one ) g oal every 5
(five) minutes. Once the score line reaches 3 0 the game will be forfeited by the offending team.
2.8
Each team fields a maximum of 5 players on the field, and up to 5 rolling substitutes MAXIMUM OF 10 PLAYERS PER TEAM PER
GAME • A player may play for more than one team in the same division on the same night, unless the opposing team object.
2.9
Red & Yellow Cards
2.9.1 If a player receives a yellow card, he is to leave the court for 3 minutes. His team are reduced by one player for the
sam e 3
minutes.
2.9.2 If a player receives second yellow card in the same game, it is upgraded to a red card and permanent dismissal from the
court. His team are reduced by one player for the remainder of the game.
2.9.3 If a team has 2 players sent off they will automatically forfeit the game, the score being 0
3 against the offending team.
2.10
The Referee’s decision is final in all aspects of game play , and his/her decisions are to be adhered
2.11 If the ball touches the Referee, play will stop and will resume with an uncontested drop ball for the team who last touc
hed the ball.
2.12 Players are to play to the Referee’s whistle. Any verbal and/or physical abuse towards a Referee will not be tolerated a
nd may lead to
severe suspensions, and even permanent bans from Hellenic Soccer Park’s venues.
2.13 Should a team wish to report a Referee’s decision(s), they may do so after the game by submitting an email to
hellenicsoccerpark@hcct.co.za
2.14
Goalkeepers MAY NOT
2.14.1 Fly kick the ball (directly out of their hands without the ball touching the ground first)
2.14.2 Pick up an intentional back pass
2.14.3 Put the ball down and then pick it up again
2.14.4 Hold the ball in their hand(s) for more than 5 seconds.
2.14.5 Lead with one’s feet when making a save.
2.14.6 Score a goal with a direct throw from his own box
All of these infringements will result in an indirect free kick being awarded against the goalkeeper.
2.15
Goalkeepers MAY
2.15.1 Drop kick the ball
2.15.2 Place the ball on the ground before kicking it
2.15.3 Throw the ball over the halfway line
2.16 NB: please note that the 10
finger rule does not apply to HSP, meaning that even if the keeper has only one hand on the bal l, and is deemed by the
Referee to be in control of it, no other player may attempt to play the ball.
2.17 Penalties to be taken from the penalty spot. The penalty taker is allowed one step before kicking the ball.
2.18 Bicycle or scissor kicks are not permitted and are considered foul play resulting in a indirect free kick to the opposin
g t eam.
2.19 Set Plays
2.19.1 There are no throw ins. Instead, a kick
in is taken from the sideline where the ball went out. The ball must be placed on or behind the
sideline, and must not be moving when kicked back into play.
2.19.2 Defending players must be at least 2 metres from the ball when the kick
in is taken.
2.10.3 The player taking the kick
in has 5 seconds to play the ball once it has been placed on or behind the sideline. If the pl ayer takes more than 5
seconds, then the kick in will be awarded to the opposing team.
2.20
A player receiving a ball from a goal kick must not play the ball until it is outside the box or it will result in an indirec t f ree kick to the opposition
from where the player touched the ball.
2.21 All free kicks are direct unless stated by the referee
2.22
A player may shoot and score from a direct free kick (from anywhere on the field). However, in the attacking half of the fiel d, a direct free kick must
be taken with no obstruction (wall) with all other players standing outside of the goal posts.
2.23 In the attacking half of the field, the team awarded the direct free kick has ten (10) seconds to tell the referee if th
ey want to take it direct. If he
chooses to play indirect quickly, as long as the ball is not moving from the point of contact he may do so. If direct is chos en, the referee in turn has to let the
defending team know.
2.24
The player taking a corner or goal kick has 5 seconds to play the ball once it has been placed. If the player takes more than 5 seconds, then the goal
kick becomes a corner to the opposing team, or the corner becomes a goal kick to the opposing team.kick in will be awarded to the opposing team
3.1 The league consists of 8 to 12 teams per division. Each team plays a total of 10 games in this league program.
3.2 A round robin of 7 league games will take place each week on the day of your league division followed by a knockout of pl
ayo ffs. In leagues consisting of
12 teams, teams finishing in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th place after the randomized 7 game league round will compete in a separate playoff to de ter mine last
4 standings. The top 8 teams will playoff for the winner’s spot. A total of 10 games will be played regardless of where your tea m finishes.
3.3 From time to time, catch up games will be allocated on Saturday or Sunday mornings.
3.4 Weekday league games are generally held between 18h00 and 20h00. Fixtures are system generated and teams will get various
ti me slots across their
league program. Captains will receive fixtures on email reminders, 3 days prior to the scheduled day as well as the day befo re
3.5 At the end of a league season, the top 3 teams within each league are promoted up a division, and the bottom 3 teams rele
gat ed down a division.
League winners and top goal scorer will receive prizes (To Be Confirmed)
3.6
No postponement requests will be allowed due to unavailability of catch up weekday slots. In order to reschedule the game, both teams will need to
agree to an available weekend slot time and cover the cost of the Referee for the hour (R120). You have until 12h00 on the d ay to request a re fixture that
is only approved if both teams agree. After 12h00 and the game is a forfeit with score being 3 0.
3.8 A team ‘’no show’’ results in a 3
0 forfeit. Two ‘’no shows’’ and the offending team will be withdrawn from the league with no refund.
